MAKE AN APPOINTMENT Many boutiques take walk-ins during the week but operate as appointment-only at the weekend. Some boutiques will offer one-on-one appointments so brides have complete privacy. If that’s important to you, it’s worth checking beforehand whether you’ll be the only bride in the shop! Some boutiques charge an appointment fee - usually £I 0-25 - usually redeemable against purchase or refundable upon attendance. FAKE TAN While it’s tempting to get all glammed up to go dress shopping, we’ve all seen the damage a spray tan can do to your bed sheets - so imagine the havoc you could wreak on half a dozen white sample dresses. In terms of makeup, a subtle wash of colour on the lips and cheeks will be enough to make you pop in the dresses! OVERBOOK YOURSELF Most boutique appointments last around 90 minutes, usually enough time to try on half a dozen dresses. We recommend a maximum of two appointments in one day to avoid feeling overwhelmed. As for the big decision? It’s totally fine to go home, have a think, then go back later once you know for sure. You don’t need to choose there and then.
