Can Nicole Scherzinger Save The X Factor?
As the show returns with yet another shake up from Mr Cowell, we take a look at whether the Nicole factor will be enough to bring it back to life...
DOES SCHERZY HAVE THE TALENT IT TAKES?
It’s not surprising that Simon Cowell made the decision to bring Nicole Scherzinger back for yet another series. Not only does she provide us with style envy, every time she’s on our television screens, but the can-do-it-all star knows how to serve up some serious entertainment value. From grabbing life “by the balls” and comparing contestants to a bowl of cereal, to her incredibly talented singing outbursts, we reveal the Scherztastic reasons we’re glad to have her back for another year...
HER HILARIOUS CELEBRITY IMPRESSIONS
We don’t know about you but we were blown away on the last series of The X Factor when Nicole belted out a few lines of Britney Spears’ classic hit Oops while she casually waited on yet another auditionee to enter the room. The judge then moved on to impersonating Shakira’s famous song Wherever, Whenever – before singing a little Rihanna as a giggling Louis Walsh and Simon looked on. Unbeknown to Nicole, she was actually being watched on a large projector screen while the nervous hopefuls patiently waited for their time to shine. So not only is Nicole a star in her own right, she’s a dab hand at imitating her fellow megastars. Oh Scherzy, you really do have it all!
HER TERRIFIC TALENT
It should be a given that all those sitting behind The X Factor judging table should be super talented, but we’re sure you know all too well that isn’t always the case (and no, we won’t name any names!). But time and time again, Scherzy hasn’t been afraid to step it up and show us exactly why she’s receiving that hefty pay check, which is rumoured to be over a whopping £1 million this year. Nicole has never been afraid to step away from her judging seat and take to the stage to sing alongside her contestants – who could forget those incredible duets with Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur? Not only will Nicole give it her absolute all when it comes to performing with her contestants but last year she took to the stage for her very own magical mash-up at ‘Diva Week’. Nicole walked on stage in a full length glittering ball gown, her hair larger than life, and grabbed the microphone from presenter Dermot to show us all she really is the queen of all things diva!
HER OFF THE WALL PHRASES
When the former Pussycat Doll first joined The X Factor panel, she really was a breath of fresh air for the show, and that’s mainly due to the hysterical and random phrases she frequently hits out with – much to the hilarity of the other judges and live audience. The eccentric star is known for describing things as ‘Schamazing’ or ‘Scherztastic’, but her crazy comments don’t stop there, she’s also (more often than not) heard likening contestants to some of her favourite foods – yes, really. When giving band District 3 feedback, Nicole said: “You are like warm apple pie. I wanted you to chuck on some ice cream, shake things up, sprinkle some Tabasco on there.” Okay Nicole, we think we might understand what you’re saying...
