Suc­cess of Cre­ative Arts Fes­ti­val

STAFF and stu­dents at Grŵp Llan­drillo Me­nai’s Rhos-on-Sea cam­pus are cel­e­brat­ing af­ter another suc­cess­ful end-of-year Cre­ative Arts Fes­ti­val.

The 10-day art ex­hi­bi­tion, which saw hun­dreds of lo­cal art lovers at­tend, fea­tured an eclec­tic ar­ray of ex­hibits, pro­duced by over 70 stu­dents on cour­ses from Level 2 to de­gree level. All of the stu­dents on the Foun­da­tion Art & De­sign course have gained places at their univer­sity of choice to study a range of dis­ci­plines: from Fine Art to Ar­chi­tec­ture.

The show high­lighted the breadth of artis­tic styles utilised by the Art, De­sign & Media stu­dents, in­clud­ing print­mak­ing, pho­tog­ra­phy, 3D, paint­ing in oils, pas­tels and wa­ter colours, and ce­ram­ics & tex­tiles. YS­GOL Glan Gele, Abergele, re­cently bagged first prize in the ce­ramic and pot­tery cat­e­gory for year 2 and un­der, and prizes for other cat­e­gories at the re­cent Urdd Eisteddfod.

The chil­dren re­ally en­joyed work­ing on all of the projects and are re­ally de­lighted with the re­sults.
