Quay driv­ers will be fined

MO­TORISTS found flout­ing traf­fic reg­u­la­tions by driv­ing along the Quay in Conwy dur­ing unau­tho­rised times will be fined.

The warn­ing is be­ing is­sued by lo­cal po­lice af­ter a num­ber of driv­ers have been found ig­nor­ing sig­nage and driv­ing along the Quay dur­ing times when it is a pedes­tri­anised zone.

Ad­vice has been given to mo­torists how­ever of­fi­cers will take a tougher stance by is­su­ing fines to those ig­nor­ing the re­stric­tions.

PCSO Bev­er­ley Owen said: “The sig­nage was put in place by the lo­cal au­thor­ity a few years ago how­ever it seems peo­ple are ig­nor­ing the re­stric­tions and driv­ing through the zone.”

PC Gary Cooper added: “We are call­ing on mo­torist to please ad­here to the sig­nage which is in place for a rea­son as fail­ure to do so could re­sult in a fine.”
