Queen of harps celebrates revamped venue
THE first birthday of a revitalised North Wales venue will be celebrated by a special concert.
Eminent harpist Catrin Finch will join Côr y Penrhyn and young musician Patrick Rimes in concert at Bethesda’s Neuadd Ogwen on August 1 at 7pm.
Neuadd Ogwen spokesman Dilwyn Llwyd said: “It is a pleasure for Neuadd Ogwen to present the line-up of our first birthday celebrations.
“After spending £820,000 on renovating the building, Neuadd Ogwen opened its doors officially on August 1, 2014 with Gruff Rhys and Santiago as the opening concert.
“The last year has seen numerous events live on the stage, and after a successful year, we would like to invite you all to join us to celebrate these achievements.
“The main act of the night will be the magnificent Catrin Finch, who has performed with numerous well known orchestras all across the world; and will be here on the Neuadd’s stage during our celebratory concert.
“Catrin Finch is referred to as the Queen of Harps; her album Blessing was nominated for the Classical Brit Award in 2013 amongst her many other accolades.”
Tickets cost £15 – £12 (concessions available) from www.neuaddogwen. com or Siop Ogwen.
