Score is not a fair reflection

COLWYN Bay Under-12s were beaten 38-5 by Ruthin, but the scoreline did not truly reflect the overall game.

With the teams historically very evenly matched, there was no way to predict the outcome in advance.

The first half proved this, with neither side clearly dominating.

Home side Ruthin scooped an early try, but Bay soon equalised with a great run from Will Neale.

Bay came close to getting ahead after a fantastic kick and run by Jack Jones, only to be thwarted on the Ruthin try-line. Steady hosts pressure earned them a second try.

The second half saw Ruthin place a succession of tries despite some very able defending by the visitors.

Ruthin were quicker to make the breaks in an otherwise fairly even battle.
