Aussies honour Kewell
NOTTS County boss Harry Kewell says he is “honoured” to be inducted into Australian Sport’s Hall of Fame.
Kewell was one of eight inductees at a special dinner in Melbourne on Thursday.
The Magpies boss could not accept the award himself, with Australia’s former World Cup coach Rale Rasic accepting the honour in his absence.
The award recognised Kewell’s career in which he played in two World Cups and won the Champions League and the FA Cup.
The former Leeds and Liverpool winger said: “It’s fantastic and a wonderful achievement.
“It’s always nice to be given these awards and it’s an honour. It means you are doing things in your sport that you are getting recognised for.
“I am very grateful for it. I am stoked to be in the Hall of Fame.”
