Sick dog dumped days after giving birth

Nottingham Post - - NEWS -

A SICK, elderly, dog was found dumped near a bin days after giving birth.

The Staffordshire bull terrier, called Molly, was found in Collison Street, Hyson Green, on Sunday after a witness saw a couple in a car dumping her.

Molly is thought to be aged nine and it appears she has been used to breed numerous times.

RSPCA inspector Susan Hammond is appealing for information. She said: “A witness saw a man put the dog behind a gate and he then placed a bin in front of it before getting in a silver Vauxhall Vectra car, with a 2005 registration, and driving off. A female was seen in the car with another dog.

“It is such a callous thing to do. I believe her owners bred her to make money and when she was no longer any value to them, they simply dumped her.”

Molly has received emergency treatment and will remain in the care of the RSPCA for now. She was dumped between 12.45pm and 1.30pm. Anyone with information can contact the RSPCA on 0300 123 8018.
