Woman scared as man follows her in park
A WOMAN has told how she had to pretend to know a group of dog walkers to get away from a man who followed her in a popular country park.
She said the man had jumped out from bushes behind her and then kept up with her even when she sped up.
The 47-year-old mum from Ilkeston, who wants to remain anonymous, was walking to meet friends for their regular morning jog at Shipley Country Park at around 9.45am on Monday.
Near the car park, she saw a dark-clothed man in his 40s with fair hair hiding in the bushes, and he suddenly jumped out behind her as she walked by.
She said: “I started feeling uneasy. I walked faster and he walked faster. It was scary. Although there was no contact, it made me feel wary.”
Derbyshire Police are investigating.
