Appiah in U18 squad

Nottingham Post - - SPORT -

TEENAGE sensation Arvin Appiah has been called into England’s Under-18 squad for a four-nations tournament later this month.

The reward comes just a week after the Nottingham Forest youngster made his senior debut, grabbing a goal in the Reds’ defeat at Burton Albion in the Carabao Cup.

Appiah will travel with Neil Dewsnip’s Young Lions squad to Murcia in Spain for the tournament with the Netherlands, Republic of Ireland and Belgium.

The Young Lions will face games kicking-off on Thursday, November 15, against the Netherlands at the Pinatar Arena, and the 17-year-old will hope to keep up his impressive recent record while away on international duty.

They will then take on the Republic of Ireland two days later before they round off their fixtures against Belgium on Monday, November 19.

Appiah was in the squad last month for wins over Czech Republic and Sweden, with Appiah grabbing a goal in the 4-0 win over the Swedes, as well as scoring in the penalty shoot-out win over the Czechs.
