Megan Mckenna

The reality star has turned her back on TOWIE amid ‘infidelity’ scandals

Now (UK) - - News - Words by Sarah Tetteh

she went through hell and back during her turbulent romance with Pete Wicks – which has finally come to an end. But don’t expect Megan Mckenna to be sobbing into her cereal, or pushed out of her place in TOWIE after being plagued by ‘lies’ and rumours of infidelity during their stormy relationship.

Instead, Now can reveal the singer is getting straight on a plane to Nashville to work on her music with a team of top producers, who have worked with the likes of country megastars Carrie Underwood and Faith Hill.

We’re told that Megan, 25, has the full support of her ex-boyfriend Harry Eden, after the pair grew close again following her split from Pete.

A source tells Now, ‘Megan has already put Essex and all the people telling lies about her firmly behind her. She has finally closed the Pete chapter for good.

‘And Harry has been supporting Megan quietly in the background. He leaves her to go to work without

tagging along as he knows she takes her music very seriously – that way, there are no distractions from her singing. They have talked about taking a break away together, but after her tour.’

Our insider continues, ‘It’s nice that they don’t have to work together like she did with Pete. He does his own thing and she does hers.’

Megan recently revealed she would be taking time off from TOWIE as she is ‘emotionally drained’ from her split from Pete, explaining, ‘I’ve absolutely loved my time on TOWIE, although this series has been emotionally draining, so I need a break from all the drama and lies.

‘My music is really important to me and I just want to focus as much of my time on that as possible, but I’d like to think I might return at some point.’

Megan and Pete split last month, and the breakdown of their relationship was shown on the ITVBE show last week.

Megan then faced the strain when her TOWIE co-star Liam Gatsby claimed he had evidence to prove she cheated on Pete with ex-boyfriend Harry – something Megan strenuously denies. Her close pals also insist the claims are untrue.

They add, ‘Megan just wants to move on and she is finding constantly responding to accusations exhausting.’

Following her departure, Megan will continue to work with TOWIE producers Lime Pictures – the team behind her hit show

There’s Something About Megan, which followed her bid to break into the lucrative country music world in Nashville, Tennessee.

It certainly looks like Megan’s dreams of country music stardom are starting to come true after debut song High Heeled Shoes reached No1 one in the itunes charts, and her follow-up single,

Far Cry From Love, then reached No2.

And her exes better watch out – because Megan plans to leave no stone unturned when it comes to writing about personal experiences with former flames.

An insider says, ‘Megan is taking no prisoners, and she will be waxing lyrical about her old lovers. She wants to stay true to her fans by keeping her music as real as possible, and the team she is working with out in Nashville are fully encouraging her to narrate her whole life through song.’

We definitely wouldn’t want to be in their high-heeled shoes when these new tell-all tracks come out…
