‘All my friends are in awe of India’
Made In Chelsea star Binky Felstead, 27, is mum to five-monthold daughter India, with boyfriend Josh Patterson.
What are you like as mum?
I’m very chilled. I haven’t read any books and I think that’s where we go wrong. We get too much information and confuse ourselves.
Did your own parents give you any tips on raising India?
My mum is the one I’ve spoken to about everything. She said, ‘Don’t listen to too many opinions, go with your gut.’
Aww! Have you endured any embarrassing nappy moments?
Not really. I don’t mind that she has a pooey nappy! At the very beginning, when you don’t know what to do to stop them crying, that’s quite scary, but she’s a very good baby.
How DO you stop India crying?
Feed her! Or take her for a walk in the pram.
Has becoming a mother changed you?
I’m a lot happier. It’s nice to be the first to have a baby out of my friendship group because everyone is so in awe of India.
Is JP very hands-on with India?
Yes. He’s a very good daddy.
That’s great! Reckon India will grow up to be a daddy’s girl?
Nah! She’ll always be a mummy’s girl (laughs).
Do you get much ‘me’ time?
Yes. I go to the gym, which is so good for my head and I’m finally getting my body back to where it was before!
Finally, what’s been your essential parenting product?
It’s from Revlon. It’s this thing you put on your forehead and it tightens your face. The With Love From Binky range with My 1st Years is available from my1styears.com/binky
