Man charged with kid­nap af­ter a ‘do­mes­tic in­ci­dent’

A MAN has been charged with kid­nap fol­low­ing an in­ci­dent in Bed­worth.

Christo­pher As­ton Sweet, aged 37, has been charged in re­la­tion to what po­lice de­scribe as a “sus­pected do­mes­tic re­lated in­ci­dent” that hap­pened in Park Road and Woodlands Lane at around 7.45am on Sun­day, Septem­ber 25.

War­wick­shire Po­lice are now ap­peal­ing for the driver of a dark 4x4 to come for­ward who was in the area at the time.

Po­lice be­lieve the driver, who was trav­el­ling along Woodlands Lane, near to Dove Close, may have in­for­ma­tion vi­tal to the case.

Po­lice Staff In­ves­ti­ga­tor Nick Lan­caster said: “We are keen to un­der­stand and as­cer­tain the ex­act de­tails sur­round­ing this in­ci­dent. We would par­tic­u­larly like to speak to a driver who was seen in a dark 4x4 ve­hi­cle at the around 7.45am on Woodlands Lane.”

Sweet will ap­pear be­fore Warwick Crown Court on October 27.
