Ar­rest: Cannabis found at home of man wanted for crimes abroad

A MAN wanted on a Euro­pean ar­rest war­rant was found with a cannabis grow­ing bi­ble af­ter arous­ing the sus­pi­cions of of­fi­cers in Nuneaton.

A num­ber of plants were also found at a prop­erty in Brace­bridge Street af­ter po­lice were alerted to the man’s pres­ence in the town cen­tre - be­fore a re­port of an as­sault was made.

Once at the house, mem­bers of Nuneaton Safer Neigh­bour­hood Team (SNT) dis­cov­ered a book en­ti­tled ‘The Cannabis Grow­ing Bi­ble’ and the plants which were said to be in a “poor state”.

A spokesper­son for the SNT said: “He was tracked by CCTV to Brace­bridge Street where he was spot­ted from a dis­tance be­fore dis­ap­pear­ing.

“Wet foot­prints were found in an al­ley lead­ing to an ad­dress. Re­sponse team of­fi­cers joined lo­cal SNT shortly af­ter.

“The male came to the door and was sub­se­quently ar­rested, by D shift re­sponse, on sus­pi­cion of as­sault and a short strug­gle then fol­lowed.

“Whilst in­side the ad­dress, a small amount of cannabis plants were found grow­ing in a poor state in the bed­room cup­board.

“Fur­ther en­quiries found the male was shown wanted on a Euro­pean ex­tra­di­tion war­rant. A fe­male was also ar­rested for cul­ti­va­tion of cannabis.”

The spokesper­son added: “Judg­ing by the lit­er­a­ture found they haven’t been fol­low­ing chap­ter and verse.”
