Police finish probe into man’s death
POLICE have concluded their investigation into the death of a man in Bedworth.
Peter Bentley died in hospital two days after being found unconscious at a house in Bulkington Road on February 11.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said that the 53-year-old had suffered a cardiac arrest before being taken to hospital.
A 56-year-old man was arrested at the time on suspicion of murder and was bailed a number of times while detectives carried out their investigation.
He has now been released with no further action to be taken and Warwickshire Police say the investigation has now ended.
A post-mortem examination in to Mr Bentley’s death came back inconclusive and further tests were due to be carried out to establish the cause of death.
A spokesman for Warwickshire Police said: “Police investigating the death of Peter Bentley have concluded their investigation.
“A 56-year-old man from Bedworth arrested on suspicion of murder has been released from bail and no further action will be taken against him. A file has been passed to the coroner.”
