Po­lice fin­ish probe into man’s death

PO­LICE have con­cluded their in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the death of a man in Bed­worth.

Peter Bent­ley died in hos­pi­tal two days af­ter be­ing found un­con­scious at a house in Bulk­ing­ton Road on Fe­bru­ary 11.

West Mid­lands Am­bu­lance Ser­vice said that the 53-year-old had suf­fered a car­diac ar­rest be­fore be­ing taken to hos­pi­tal.

A 56-year-old man was ar­rested at the time on sus­pi­cion of mur­der and was bailed a num­ber of times while de­tec­tives car­ried out their in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

He has now been re­leased with no fur­ther ac­tion to be taken and War­wick­shire Po­lice say the in­ves­ti­ga­tion has now ended.

A post-mortem ex­am­i­na­tion in to Mr Bent­ley’s death came back in­con­clu­sive and fur­ther tests were due to be car­ried out to es­tab­lish the cause of death.

A spokesman for War­wick­shire Po­lice said: “Po­lice in­ves­ti­gat­ing the death of Peter Bent­ley have con­cluded their in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

“A 56-year-old man from Bed­worth ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of mur­der has been re­leased from bail and no fur­ther ac­tion will be taken against him. A file has been passed to the coro­ner.”
