WAR­WICK­SHIRE Po­lice has moved to re­as­sure so­cial me­dia users that a bizarre e-fit go­ing vi­ral to­day IS real.

Po­lice re­leased the un­usual e-fit of a man they are look­ing for in con­nec­tion with a dis­trac­tion bur­glary in War­wick­shire on Tues­day.

The man and an­other ac­com­plice struck at a prop­erty in Hert­ford Place, Strat­ford , and left with a quan­tity of cash be­tween 2pm and 2.36pm on Fe­bru­ary 5.

A spokesman for War­wick­shire Po­lice said: “We can con­firm that this is real and that we an­tic­i­pated the at­ten­tion! But jokes aside, it was cre­ated from a de­scrip­tion pro­vided and it’s se­ri­ous as a woman was vic­tim of a hor­ri­ble crime.”

Since the im­age was is­sued by po­lice, it has had more than 800 retweets on Twit­ter and 600 likes on Face­book . The crime The two men claimed to be from Or­bit Hous­ing and tricked their way into the flat.

One of the men – the one whose e-fit the po­lice have re­leased – dis­tracted the woman, in her 40s, while the other man searched the prop­erty.

When the vic­tim re­alised what they were do­ing she or­dered them to leave. The men left with a quan­tity of cash. Of­fi­cers are ask­ing any­one with in­for­ma­tion to call 101 quot­ing in­ci­dent 220 of 5 Fe­bru­ary 2018.
