Nuneaton News Sweeping changes to towns’ bus routes
SOME bus services will be axed and others changed when sweeping timetable changes come into force across Nuneaton and Bedworth.
Stagecoach Midlands has revealed the changes it plans to bring in on January 5 next year and it includes the loss of some services.
It follows a sweeping review of the timetable and will see some stops withdrawn, some services axed altogether and changes to the times of buses.
Among the changes proposed include the Number 10 will no longer running to Hinckley, the 17B service from Coventry – Corley – Arley – Galley Common – Stockingford – Nuneaton being axed and the number 57 in Bedworth, which calls in at Ash Green – Keresley – Coventry, being removed and some stops being replaced by the number 56.
A spokesperson said: “In September Stagecoach began a process of reviewing its entire bus network across the Midlands. Over this period detailed analysis has taken place to review passenger numbers on each route and ways of tackling services which are not commercially viable.
“Following detailed consultation with Warwickshire County Council over the last few months Stagecoach is now in a position to reveal the changes which will come into effect on the January 5 2019.
“Some services will be retendered by Warwickshire County Council and hopefully they will be able to publish the outcome of these in the near future.”
