LeJog, Land’s End to John O’Groats, UK. 5-8 December
The racing month in pictures, and more
Don’t be taken in by this pastoral scene – even if it does include a stickered-up Lancia Fulvia in the middle-distance. The self-proclaimed ‘toughest rally in Europe’ started in darkness as 70mph winds battered competitors, then ran the length of the British mainland over some of the gnarliest and tiniest, not to say wettest, roads in the country. At least the crews finished in sunshine, something hardly guaranteed for Scotland in December.
