Goodwood reveals 2016 highlights

Excess power and the achievements of Sir Jack Brabham to be celebrated

Octane - - IGNITION // NEWS -

it’s that time of year again, when Goodwood announces the main themes for the Festival of Speed and Revival events – and they’re looking as strong as ever.

The main theme of the Festival, which takes place on 23-26 June, is ‘Full Throttle – The Endless Pursuit of Power’, which simply provides an excuse to run near-unmanageable machines such as the Porsche 917 (left) up the hill. More specifically, the Festival will also celebrate the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, 50 years since the inaugural Can-Am Series and the 40th anniversary of James Hunt’s 1976 World Championship win.

The Goodwood Revival, on 9-11 September, will honour the late Sir Jack Brabham on the 50th anniversary of him becoming the only driver in history to win the Formula 1 World Championship in a car bearing his own name.
