The cost of new leisure centre

Oldham Advertiser - - BIG PICTURE -

YOU can now keep a close watch on the development of the new Oldham sports centre thanks to time-lapse technology.

A special camera has been installed on site, at the junction of Manchester Street and St Domingo Street, to capture the progress of construction on film.

Regenology, the company behind the technol- ogy, will be collecting high definition footage of the work to collate it into a special film – perfect for historical documentation, promotional films and being streamed directly over the internet.

Richard Overton, managing director, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to provide our time-lapse services to the new Oldham Sports Centre.

“When completed in autumn 2015, the centre will bring major benefits to the local community. It will be fantastic to be able to capture its progression on film.

“Our extensive experience means we have the know-how needed for complex and demanding projects, including large scale regeneration and construction projects requiring multiple cam- eras and years.”

Once complete, the £15m leisure and sporting venue will boast a 25 metre eight-lane swimming pool with spectator gallery, eight-court sports hall, 80-station fitness studio and four-rink indoor bowls area.
