CELEBRATED international artist Brian Clarke returned to his hometown to open a new building named after him.

The Blue Coat School welcomed the artist responsible for some of the most enduring and radical stained glass windows of the last 30 years.

They created a paper collage in the style of Clarke’s stain glass windows and inspired by the subjects that will be taught in the new building.

Head of art Natalie Clarke said “The story of a boy from Oldham and his journey to working as one of the world’s leading stained glass artists has excited and influenced pupils of all ages to look at art and design as a serious career path.”
