Oldham Advertiser - - GALLERY OLDHAM -

CELEBRATING 50 years since they recorded their first number one hit single, The Sound of Silence, a musical performance will tell the story of Simon and Garfunkel at Oldham Coliseum.

Set to hit the West End in February 2015, The Simon and Garfunkel Story celebrates the lives and career of the folk/rock duo.

It features West End, award-winning leading man Dean Elliot (Buddy Holly in Buddy - The Musical) and a full cast of talented actor-musicians.

It takes audiences back through the groovy times of the 1960s, telling the story of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, from their humble beginnings as rock and roll duo Tom and Jerry, through to their massive success, dramatic break-up and finishing with a stunning recreation of the 1981 Central Park reformation concert.

Using a huge projection screen, the show features original photos and film footage while a full live band performs their hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Homeward Bound and of course The Sound of Silence.

The show will be on at Oldham Coliseum Theatre, Fairbottom Street, Oldham, at 7.30pm on October 4.

Tickets £17. Call 0161 624 2829 or visit www. coliseum.org.uk.
