Thugs are hunted over at­tack on take­away staff

A TAKE­AWAY boss and his chef were at­tacked and beaten after clos­ing for the evening.

Armed thugs lay in wait for the pair out­side the take­away, on Wood­stock Green, Fit­ton Hill, late on Tues­day, De­cem­ber 9.

The owner locked up the premises and was walk­ing to his car be­hind the build­ing when he was struck on the head from be­hind at about 11.15pm.

He was hit re­peat­edly and when he tried to turn round, he saw his at­tacker was hold­ing a knife.

The thug shouted ‘give me the money’ while a sec­ond man at­tacked the chef at the take­away, who was nearby.

A passer-by heard the dis­tur­bance and the thugs, along with a third man, ran away down an al­ley­way to­wards The Spur.

The first man was mixed race, in his early 20s, slim and wear­ing dark cloth­ing.

He had a scarf cov­er­ing his face and a hood cov­er­ing his head.

The sec­ond man was stocky and wear­ing dark cloth­ing.

He also had a scarf cov­er­ing his face and a hood cov­er­ing his head.

Det Con Si­mon Moyles said: “This was a vi­o­lent at­tack and the of­fend­ers had ac­tu­ally lain in wait for the vic­tims, mak­ing it even more sin­is­ter.”
