Hos­pi­tal ap­points top nurse

A NEW chief nurse will be tak­ing the reins at the Royal Old­ham.

The Pen­nine Acute Hos­pi­tals NHS Trust – which runs the Royal Old­ham as well as the Rochdale In­fir­mary, North Manch­ester and Fair­field Gen­eral – has re­cruited Gill Har­ris to take up post on April 1.

She will take charge of the trust’s 4,000 nurses and be re­spon­si­ble for pa­tient safety and ex­pe­ri­ence, in­fec­tion con­trol and preven­tion and clin­i­cal gov­er­nance.

She said: “I am ab­so­lutely de­lighted to be join­ing the team of ded­i­cated clin­i­cal pro­fes­sion­als at Pen­nine to pro­vide ev­ery one of their pa­tients with the best nurs­ing care pos­si­ble.

“I have seen that Pen­nine is a trust that is fully com­mit­ted to im­prov­ing the care and treat­ment of all of its pa­tients and I am re­ally ex­cited to be in­volved in driv­ing the con­tin­u­ous im­prove­ment of its ser­vices for­ward even fur­ther.”
