Thousands of spectacles donated to the Zambia
RESIDENTS have helped people in the Zambia to see clearly.
Almost 2,000 pairs of glasses were donated to the Specsavers stores in Oldham and Royton as part of its Working with Vision Aid Overseas campaign.
The glasses are recycled for cash donations which are used to help developing countries.
Rod Fullalove, store director, said: “We would really like to thank all of our customers who helped us in this project.
“In a country where opticians’ services are readily available, such as the UK, it is easy to take our vision for granted.”
Both stores are still collecting glasses. Visit specsavers.co.uk for details.
