Consistency is the key to another victory
THE consistent pair of Keith Muir and Brian Storey won again as Brookdale staged a two-man team Stableford competition.
They finished with 77 points, which saw them defeat Peter Buckley and Steve Pickering on a cpo.
Karen’s Race to March 14 at Brookdale had the latest competition led in by Laurence Smith with 46 points, two more than Dave Jones and Ian Pontefract.
Last year the Manchester Alliance introduced the Inter Club Seniors Team Match Play competition for men’s teams over 55 years of age.
They were delighted with an entry of more than 60 clubs with Pike Fold becoming the first holders of the trophy, beating Lymm in the final at Manchester Golf Club.
Manchester have offered to be permanent finals hosts and there is an entry of more than 70 clubs for the 2015 contest.
The draw has been made for round one and it features the following matches: Stamford v Brookdale: Saddleworth v winners of Houldsworth v Westwood; Crompton and Royton v Chorlton; Werneth v Withington; Swinton Park v Blackley.
Former Brookdale professional Tony Cuppello teamed up with amateur Pike Fold colleague Paul Wilson to win the Manchester Alliance pro am at Crewe.
