THE con­sis­tent pair of Keith Muir and Brian Storey won again as Brook­dale staged a two-man team Stable­ford com­pe­ti­tion.

They fin­ished with 77 points, which saw them de­feat Peter Buck­ley and Steve Pick­er­ing on a cpo.

Karen’s Race to March 14 at Brook­dale had the lat­est com­pe­ti­tion led in by Lau­rence Smith with 46 points, two more than Dave Jones and Ian Pon­te­fract.

Last year the Manch­ester Al­liance in­tro­duced the In­ter Club Se­niors Team Match Play com­pe­ti­tion for men’s teams over 55 years of age.

They were de­lighted with an en­try of more than 60 clubs with Pike Fold be­com­ing the first hold­ers of the tro­phy, beat­ing Lymm in the fi­nal at Manch­ester Golf Club.

Manch­ester have of­fered to be per­ma­nent fi­nals hosts and there is an en­try of more than 70 clubs for the 2015 con­test.

The draw has been made for round one and it fea­tures the fol­low­ing matches: Stam­ford v Brook­dale: Sad­dle­worth v win­ners of Houldsworth v West­wood; Cromp­ton and Roy­ton v Chorl­ton; Wer­neth v Withing­ton; Swin­ton Park v Black­ley.

For­mer Brook­dale pro­fes­sional Tony Cup­pello teamed up with am­a­teur Pike Fold col­league Paul Wil­son to win the Manch­ester Al­liance pro am at Crewe.
