EVEN more people are to be helped out of fuel poverty thanks to an award-winning scheme.
The Warm Homes Oldham scheme is to be rolled out for the third year running.
To date, almost 2,000 people have benefited from grants to make their homes warmer and more energy efficient. A further 38 households in Failsworth and Limeside have signed up for home improvements this year.
An external wall insulation scheme has also started on 85 First Choice Homes properties on the Holts estate.
Jill Chadwick, one of the residents to benefit, said: “The past couple of winters have left me freezing in my own house.
“I’m so excited to see the end results and reap the benefits.”
The Warm Homes Scheme is funded by the council, the clinical commissioning group and Oldham housing investment partnership with the work carried out by regeneration specialists, Keepmoat.
