Louis Jadot Moulin-à-Vent

Olive - - Lulu's Notes -

Generally regarded as one of the best of the 10 crus of Beaujolais, Moulin-à-Vent is made from 100% gamay grapes, grown on pink granite soil which gives a concentrated, long-lasting style, and when these wines age they acquire the soft, silky texture of old burgundy. Château des Jacques is owned by one of Burgundy’s top producers, Louis Jadot. They aim to bring out the character of the place and the soil in the wine, using traditional winemaking and low yields. This is a much more serious wine than Beaujolais nouveau. It has deep red berry and cherry fruit, with savoury notes and a crisp fnish. Enjoy it with lamb, chicken and meaty fsh such as turbot. bind Château des Jacques Moulin-à-vent on the list at The coring in hondon and at Northcote in Lancashire at around £40, or buy it to drink at home at Majestic at £15.99.
