Girl Guides enjoy Lions Club success at the double
A LOCAL Girl Guide Troop has produced, not one, but two winners in the Lions Club International Peace Poster Competition.
Amy Webster and Isobelle Mould, both aged 14, who attend Newburgh Guides won regional heats with their artistic interpretation of A Celebration of Peace.
High marks were awarded for artistic merit, originality, and expression of the theme.
Isobelle’s entry went on to represent her region in the next stages of the competition which culminates at the United Nations in New York.
On presenting the awards, Barry Prior Douglas Valley Lions Club President said: “The Lions, who serve local communities and promote peace worldwide, are proud to be associated with such enthusiastic and talented young people.”
