Affordable village homes
IF you are looking for a new home in Rufford, keep an eye out for new affordable homes available to rent and buy that are expected to be completed shortly.
West Lancashire Borough Council has negotiated an arrangement with Jones Homes to provide 14 affordable homes on their popular development at Roseacre Gardens, Rufford.
It is intended that all the homes will be owned by a housing association.
The council has nomination rights for the rental properties, consisting of four two-bed houses, four three-bed houses and two two-bed bungalows.
Initial preference will be given to households with a connection to the Rufford area, in line with the council’s policy.
The remaining four properties consist of three two-bed houses and one three-bed house.
These will be available for shared ownership sale once a housing association has been identified for the site.
In the meantime, if you are interested in shared ownership on this site, send your contact details to the council’s housing strategy and development programme manager at jonathan.mitchell@west lancs.gov.uk. Your details will be passed on to the housing association who acquires the homes.
Jacqui Sinnott-Lacey, the council’s director of housing and inclusion, said: “The council has made a commitment to allocation providing good quality affordable housing.
“The development of these homes for rent and shared ownership sale is another example of how we are delivering that promise to people in our communities.”
The rental homes will be on HomeFinder, the council’s choice-based letting scheme. You must be fully registered with HomeFinder so you can bid for properties.
Information on how to register for HomeFinder is available on the website www.westlancshome finder.co.uk.
If you are interested in the rented properties, please register as soon as possible and then check the website regularly as they will be advertised soon.
