Grand way to make a change

LAN­CASHIRE res­i­dents still have time to qual­ify for the chance to re­ceive £1,000 to do their bit to put com­mu­nity projects and ideas into ac­tion - and change the world for the bet­ter in 2017.

The of­fer is part of the na­tional campaign Change the World in 20 Ways, which was launched by eth­i­cal beauty brand Green Peo­ple last month.

Green Peo­ple, which is cel­e­brat­ing its 20th year, is be­ing sup­ported by the renowned anatomist, au­thor and broad­caster, and its of­fi­cial science com­mu­ni­ca­tion ad­viser and brand am­bas­sador, Prof Alice Roberts.

The ini­tia­tive aims to un­cover in­di­vid­u­als or groups from all over the UK with great ideas for mak­ing a pos­i­tive dif­fer­ence to the com­mu­nity around them – how­ever small it might be – and Lan­cashire res­i­dents are in­vited to take part.

Whether it’s try­ing to get a char­ity project off the ground, start­ing a free yoga class or per­haps spruc­ing up a lo­cal ur­ban area, Green Peo­ple wants to hear from peo­ple with their ideas and why they de­serve to re­ceive £1,000 to­wards their project.

Prof Roberts said: “There is still time to take part, sub­mit your en­try and get sup­port to make your dream a re­al­ity.

“I am de­lighted to be work­ing with Green Peo­ple to spread pos­i­tiv­ity across the coun­try. It’s a great way to make a dif­fer­ence and I’m look­ing for­ward to see­ing peo­ple’s ideas.”
