Arsonists set 2 cars in Skem alight in less than 2 days
ARSONISTS have attacked cars twice in Skelmersdale in the space of less than 36 hours.
The first vehicle was set on fire at the side of the road in Birch Green at around 11.30pm on Sunday, while the second was found on fire in Carfield in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The attacks come three weeks after a lorry was set on fire in Potter Place and another suspected arson attack on a car in Pit Hey Place eight days earlier.
No-one was injured in any of the fires and it is not yet known if the incidents are linked.
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire & Rescue service said: “Cars had been deliberately set alight at the roadside. Firefighters from Skelmersdale used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fires and there were no casualties. Police were notified of suspected arson.”
A spokesman for Lancashire police said that inquiries were ongoing following the incidents.
