Geared up for town’s fes­ti­val of mo­tor­ing

AFANTASTIC line-up of cars will be on show in Orm­skirk town cen­tre this Satur­day (July 8) for a mouth wa­ter­ing pre­view of what peo­ple are likely to see at one of the big­gest free fam­ily events in the North West.

Orm­skirk Mo­tor­Fest 2017 takes place on Sun­day, Au­gust 27, and thou­sands of peo­ple will visit the town to see more than 300 cars and mo­tor­cy­cles from all eras of mo­tor­ing on dis­play in Coro­na­tion Park and Orm­skirk town cen­tre.

Peo­ple will be given a taste of what this year’s Mo­tor­Fest will have to of­fer when a se­lec­tion of com­pe­ti­tion and clas­sic ve­hi­cles are dis­played on Moor­gate close to the Queen’s Head to of­fi­cially launch the count­down to Orm­skirk Mo­tor­Fest 2017.

This dis­play is or­gan­ised ev­ery year to pre­view the Mo­tor­Fest and to sup­port Na­tional Mo­tor­sport Week.

It helped Ain­tree Cir­cuit Club win Na­tional Mo­tor­sport Week’s best club dis­play for three suc­ces­sive years.

Orm­skirk Mo­tor­Fest is or­gan­ised each year by Ain­tree Cir­cuit Club with the sup­port of West Lan­cashire Bor­ough Coun­cil.

Coun­cil­lor John Hod­son, whose cabi­net re­spon­si­bil­i­ties in­clude the Orm­skirk Mo­tor­Fest, said: “There will be some mar­vel­lous ve­hi­cles on dis­play in Orm­skirk on Satur­day, July 8, and this line-up is a great way of giv­ing peo­ple a glimpse of what they could see at the Mo­tor­Fest.

“Make sure you put the date of Sun­day, Au­gust 27, in your diary so you don’t miss the fan­tas­tic free Orm­skirk Mo­tor­Fest.

“With so many thou­sands of vis­i­tors ex­pected to come to Orm­skirk for the Mo­tor­Fest, we hope that town cen­tre busi­nesses will take ad­van­tage of this great op­por­tu­nity and open up on Mo­tor­Fest day.”

Mike Ashcroft, Ain­tree Cir­cuit Club chair­man, said: “We are plan­ning some great at­trac­tions to make the Mo­tor­Fest a great day out for all the fam­ily.

“The Con­cours de El­e­gance com­pe­ti­tion will once again see some of the re­ally top-class ve­hi­cles at the Mo­tor­Fest in a special dis­play in Coro­na­tion Park.”
