Community Link Foundation
STAFF from a Southport accountancy firm got splattered in paint at the weekend all in the name of charity.
The accountants from Stubbs Parkin in Hoghton Street took part in the Color Obstacle Rush at Aintree Racecourse last Saturday to raise money for Community Link Foundation.
The team, which included Becky, Helen, Alexandra, Claire and Lewis, raised £437.50 with money still coming in.
The colleagues found the course of obstacles more tiring than they thought they would but had a great time and ended up covered from head to toe in paint.
A spokesperson for Stubbs Parkin said: “We all had a brilliant day raising money for Community Link Foundation.
“It was a great team effort by Stubbs Parkin and our donation page is currently at £437.50.
“The page is still open and we’d be very grateful if people want to make a donation before it closes in August.”
The colleagues wanted to take part in an event that they could all do together and the Color Obstacle Rush sounded like the perfect way to have some fun while fundraising.
They chose to raise money for Community Link after hearing of its work in Southport and the surrounding areas.
Enda Rylands, chairman of Community Link Foundation, said: “We are grateful to the staff at Stubbs Parkin for choosing to raise money for Community Link Foundation by taking part in this event.
“It sounds like they had a fun – if slightly messy – time while fundraising for us. We’d love to hear from other groups or individuals who would like to fundraise so we can continue to support people and organisations in the area.
“Thanks again Stubbs Parkin!”
The team are now looking for their next fundraising challenge – once they have recovered from this one.
