Man ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of drinkdriv­ing after crash

A 25-YEAR-OLD man has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of drink-driv­ing after crash­ing head-on into an­other car.

The man was ar­rested after his Mini con­vert­ible crashed into a blue Ford on School Lane, Skelmers­dale, at around 7am on Tues­day, Oc­to­ber 10.

A woman who was in the car with him ran from the scene be­fore po­lice ar­rived.

De­spite both cars suf­fer­ing se­ri­ous dam­age, the driver of the Ford was said to have only suf­fered a mi­nor head in­jury.

Lan­cashire po­lice said: “We re­ceived a call from Aspen Lane to a car crash after some­one had shouted for help fol­low­ing a crash on School Lane.

“A fe­male suf­fered a head in­jury and a 25-year-old man from Skelmers­dale was ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of drink-driv­ing.”
