ICT students get lowdown on advertising careers
ICT Level 3 students from West Lancashire College have recently attended the IPA Advertising Unlocked event as part of their work experience.
Showing team effort by working alongside other colleges, the learners came up with innovative strategies to promote products with two global advertising agencies, BJL and Mediacom.
The learners worked on developing promotive products for Wayma (Google’s driverless car) in the UK and using social media strategies to increase the profile of New Balance trainers.
Advertising Unlocked is a unique opportunity for students to get an insight into working in Manchester’s advertising and marketing sector.
Leading agencies ran a range of work experience activities including workshops, seminars, masterclasses and career talks from agency staff.
They had a great opportunity to get involved and get a unique work experience day.
BJL have worked with large organisations such as Ronseal, Swinton Insurance, Asda, Jacamo, Betfred and many others globally.
Medicom have worked to transform communications through systems thinking.
They too have worked with large organisations such as NHS Blood & Transplant, P&G, Mars/Snickers, Sony, Bose, Bank of New Zealand, Shell, Coca Cola and many more.
This was a fantastic opportunity that provided learners an insight in to another part of the IT sector.
