Ormskirk Advertiser - - Martin Mere -

PEOPLE at venues across Southport and West Lancashire shared a cuppa as they celebrated the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

The huge annual fundraising event for Macmillan Cancer Support saw people across the area tucking into some delicious homemade cakes and other treats.

People hosted coffee mornings in their homes, in pubs, in shops, in hairdressers, and in other local businesses too.

A spokesman for Macmillan Cancer Support said: “People have been catching up over a cuppa and enjoying some gorgeous treats.

“The more money people raise at their coffee morning the more it will help us to make sure no-one has to face cancer alone.

“There are now 2.5m people in the UK living with cancer.

“By 2030, it will be 4m people, and we want to be there for them all.

“One in three of us will get cancer, and it will be one of the toughest things we’ll ever have to face.”
