Strictly a great success for Carol and Tom
AFTER practising hard, the night had finally arrived as Carol and Tom took nervously to the stage.
Standing on The Olympia’s dance floor in Liverpool, dressed in their striking, elegant ballroom attire, the couple prepared to showcase their very own ultra ballroom routine.
Carol, a nurse, and her husband Tom, a former senior carer from Stocks Hall Skelmersdale Home, had been perfecting their ballroom dancing waltz sequence, for eight weeks and were ready to dance.
Stocks Hall Nursing & Care Group had kindly sponsored the couple by purchasing a full table at the event to support and cheer them on as their time came around to take to the ballroom floor.
Mary and Barbara, who live at Stocks Hall, along with staff, friends and family, attended the event to enjoy the evening’s entertainment.
Each couple gave their best and the event was a huge success.
Carol and Tom danced to The Tale As Old As Time, from the Disney film Beauty & The Beast, scoring 20 points out of a possible 30 – a great score!
The couple didn’t win but Stocks Hall Care Homes are very proud of them, both for entering the competition and for raising money for vital cancer research.
The couple raised an amazing £600 so a big well done Carol and Tom.
Carol said: “We had the time of our lives. It was nerve-racking but really worth it.
“Knowing we were raising money for Cancer whilst learning to perfect our ballroom dancing techniques, kept us going throughout the whole process.
“We would encourage everyone to have a go, it’s very enjoyable.”
