Community Link Foundation
COMMUNITY Link Foundation awarded a total of more than £15,000 in grants at its most recent trustees meeting.
There were six successful applications from a variety of deserving causes including individuals and organisations.
They had all applied for grants from Community Link Foundation through the website www.clfoundation.co.uk.
The donations were only possible thanks to the generosity of CLF’s supporters; whether they are members of the 600 Club, organisers of a fundraising event, businesses who regularly support us, or one of the many people who support us in other ways.
Recipients of the recent grants include Timesavers, Churches Together in Ormskirk, Sefton OPERA, St Lukes CE Primary School, Home Start Southport and Formby and a disabled teenage boy.
Timesavers is an organisation that helps people with learning difficulties gain office skills and work experience.
They applied for a grant to enable them to continue running projects over the coming months.
Churches Together in Ormskirk successfully applied for a grant to help towards the costs of the Park Praise Family Fun Day which is held in Coronation Park on Saturday, June 30 and is free to attend.
Sefton Opera (Older Persons Enabling Resource and Action) provide health and wellbeing activities for older people all around Sefton.
They have been successful in their grant for funding for a swimming instructor to hold beginners’ lessons and confidence building sessions for the over-50s in Southport.
A grant has also been donated to an Ainsdale teenager who has Becker muscular dystrophy.
The money will help buy an electric bike so that he can spend time outdoors with his friends and family.
Home-Start Southport and Formby applied for a grant towards the rental of a hall where they can hold meetings for isolated families.
The meetings are for families of children with disabilities, refugees and people with depression and poor mental health to help them feel safe and reassured.
St Lukes CE Primary School also applied for funding which was approved.
