Com­mu­nity web­site launched on Tawd Val­ley

THE Tawd Val­ley Park web­site has been launched and will be in­stru­men­tal in keep­ing the lo­cal com­mu­nity up to date with the Tawd Val­ley Park Im­prove­ment Project and its progress.

Fea­tur­ing within the web­site are de­tails of project part­ners, events and ac­tiv­i­ties as well as in­for­ma­tion about de­vel­op­ment work to­gether with op­por­tu­ni­ties for the com­mu­nity to get in­volved to make the Tawd a place where fam­i­lies and friends can en­joy this rich re­source within the heart of Skelmers­dale.

In­for­ma­tion on the plans for how the foot­paths will be im­proved, the up­grad­ing of the fish­ing lake and the new cy­cle­way are also fea­tured on the web­site.

You can also find out all the birds that have been seen in the park by vis­it­ing the web­site’s wildlife sec­tion.

There are de­tails of how to join the Friends of Tawd Val­ley Park as well as in­for­ma­tion on how to vol­un­teer for spe­cific projects in­clud­ing plans to cre­ate a Com­mu­nity Or­chard.

Heidi McDougall, West Lan­cashire Bor­ough Coun­cil Direc­tor of Leisure and En­vi­ron­ment, said: “There is al­ready plenty for peo­ple to see on the web­site and as the project de­vel­ops and fur­ther ac­tiv­i­ties are planned there will be plenty more.”
