How to have your say on coun­cil’s key dis­cus­sions

RES­I­DENTS are be­ing re­minded that they can give their views on an item on a West Lan­cashire Bor­ough Coun­cil agenda.

Peo­ple liv­ing in ar­eas in­clud­ing Ormk­sirk, Burscough, Aughton and Skelmers­dale have the chance to speak on cer­tain agenda items at coun­cil meet­ings where im­por­tant de­ci­sions are made that af­fect peo­ple across the bor­ough.

In ad­di­tion to those ar­range­ments in place for speak­ing at plan­ning and li­cens­ing com­mit­tees, there is also an op­por­tu­nity to speak on items be­ing con­sid­ered at meet­ings of cabi­net, au­dit & gov­er­nance com­mit­tee, stan­dards com­mit­tee and overview and scru­tiny com­mit­tees.

The right to speak ap­plies to all meet­ings of the com­mit­tees men­tioned but res­i­dents may wish to note the dates of up­com­ing meet­ings:

Cabi­net, Tues­day, Novem­ber 6 at 7pm.

Ex­ec­u­tive overview and scru­tiny com­mit­tee, Thurs­day, Novem­ber 22 at 7pm.

Cor­po­rate and en­vi­ron­men­tal overview and scru­tiny com­mit­tee, Thurs­day, De­cem­ber 6 at 7pm.

Agen­das for th­ese meet­ings will usu­ally be pub­lished on the coun­cil’s web­site in the week pre­ced­ing the meet­ing. To re­quest to speak, mem­bers of the pub­lic must con­tact mem­ber ser­vices with their re­quest by 10am on the Fri­day of the week pre­ced­ing the rel­e­vant meet­ing.
