Epilepsy ap­peal

FAM­I­LIES with chil­dren with epilepsy are be­ing asked to help shape a study that could pro­vide a treat­ment break­through.

Pro­fes­sors at Edge Hill Univer­sity in Orm­skirk are look­ing for par­ents of chil­dren with rolandic epilepsy, the most com­mon form of child­hood epilepsy, to join their pa­tient and pub­lic in­volve­ment ad­vi­sory panel.

It in­cludes a clin­i­cal trial mea­sur­ing the ef­fec­tive­ness of two drugs in terms of sleep, alertness and abil­ity to learn.
