A CHARITY which supports people with longterm and terminal illnesses has confirmed plans to open a store in Burscough.

Sue Ryder will open the furniture store at Ringtail Retail Park next year, with a spokesman confirming the plans after weeks of speculation.

An opening date of February next year is planned, with the store also set to stock a range of clothing and home goods.

The store will open in the vacant unit next to the Aldi superstore; the announcement comes just weeks after the awardwinning Fylde Fish Bar opened a shop at the retail park.

The charity, which provides palliative and bereavement care for patients and their families, requires £44m to operate each year and operates similar shops across the country.

A spokesman for the charity said: “We are excited to confirm that Sue Ryder is set to open a new superstore in the Ringtail Retail Park in February 2019, and we will announce an opening date in due course.

“The shop’s new ‘superstore’ format will pair the choice of a large out-oftown store with the low prices you would expect of a Sue Ryder shop.

“Customers will be able to browse a wide range of both brand new and second-hand furniture, clothing and homewares, whilst also supporting Sue Ryder’s palliative, neurological and bereavement care.”

The charity is now recruiting for three paid roles at the new store. For more information, visit suery
