Workers can sign up for uni course
University bosses are starting new graduate level apprenticeships in software and engineering design.
The courses at University of the West of Scotland are aimed at those already in jobs or those seeking jobs in the computing industry.
Starting in September 2017 they enable participants to study Software Development and Engineering Design and Manufacture.
UWS bosses are working with Skills Development Scotland to deliver Graduate Level Apprenticeships, which have been developed in partnership wi t h industry.
The degree courses provide innovative work- based learning opportunities that enable apprentices to work full-time while studying for a UWS Honours degree.
Organisers said it marks a new way for undergrads to achieve a degree while in paid employment.
They are designed in conjunction with employers, so students can be sure the qualification and skills learned are what they need for the world of work.
Employers make gains on skills investment and access the graduate talent pipeline their business needs.
