Creative kids can discover textiles

-

Young people interested in photography, visual design, sculpture or performance can take part in a new project exploring Paisley’s textile history.

Create Paisley is the group behind Threadlines, a visual arts workshop which starts on Saturday, September 23.

The group will meet on Saturday afternoons in Create Paisley’s base in the Methodist Central Halls, Gauze Street. The group will examine Paisley’s story of printed textiles and experiment with ideas to produce a new piece of public interactive art in the town centre.

The sessions will include practical activities like printmaking, sculpture and performance and will be run by Pester and Rossi, a visual artist collective from Glasgow.

No p re v i o u s arts experience is necessary and all young people aged between 12 and 21 are welcome to come along. Sessions are free.
