McDon­ald’s love tri­an­gle ends up in court af­ter jilted ex threat­ens co-worker

A jilted lover lost his job af­ter threat­en­ing his ex-girl­friend’s new man in a McDon­ald’s love tri­an­gle.

Michael Quay saw red when he dis­cov­ered his long-term part­ner was see­ing an­other fast food col­league be­hind his back.

And the rag­ing 24-year-old con­fronted the pair out­side the McDon­ald’s branch where the trio worked in a row which led to his dis­missal by the burger gi­ant.

Quay ad­mit­ted shout­ing threats at Lewis McGowan as he left work with Iona Ram­say dur­ing two sep­a­rate out­bursts.

Pais­ley Sher­iff Court heard this week how the trio be­came in­volved in a love tus­sle which left Quay in the dock.

He ad­mit­ted act­ing in a threat­en­ing and abu­sive man­ner likely to cause fear and alarm on May 23 and June 1 last year.

Fis­cal de­pute Mau­reen McGovern told the court that Mr McGowan and Miss Ram­say were con­fronted as they left work.

She said: “The ac­cused and the young lady ( Iona Ram­say) had been in a re­la­tion­ship or four or five years, which she de­scribes as on-off.

“They split up at the be­gin­ning of May 2016, hav­ing pre­vi­ously worked to­gether in McDon­ald’s in Ren­frew Road in Pais­ley, as did
