Jazz quar­tet ready to hit town

Pais­ley Arts Cen­tre will be jazzed up when one of the coun­try’s best sax­o­phon­ists takes the stage.

Tommy Smith brings his new quar­tet to the New Street venue on Friday, Septem­ber 29.

The quar­tet fea­tures for­mer Her­bie Han­cock and Jamie Cul­lum drum­mer, Se­bas­ti­aan de Krom, the Young Scot­tish Jazz Mu­si­cian of the Year 2012, pi­anist Peter John­stone, and Scot­tish Na­tional Jazz Or­ches­tra bassist Calum Gourlay.

They re­leased their first al­bum, Em­body­ing the Light, to rave re­views in July.
