Inpatient unit to move for Accord revamp
Paisley’s Accord Hospice has confirmed details of the decant of its inpatient unit while a major refurbishment takes place.
The £750,000 project is to take 26 weeks, starting in December.
During this time, the hospice says it will continue to provide inpatient care at a decant facility at Montrose Residential Care Home, in Foxbar.
A spokesman for Accord said:“Healthcare professionals should continue to refer patients as normal.
“All our other services will continue to be provided at our main site – 7 Morton Avenue, Paisley.
“Our telephone number remains as 0141 581 2000.”
The refurbishment will provide single rooms, individual garden areas, centralised services and an upgrade of amenities.
The current layout of the inpatient unit has been in place since 1997.
There is currently a mix of single, and shared same-sex bedrooms.
Feedback from patients and regulators suggested that the hospice’s physical environment needed improvement, however.
Bosses at Accord have assured patients and families that they will be kept up to date on the refurbishment.
“Throughout this period we will keep you abreast of development and progress through our website and social media platforms,” the spokesman added.
“If you require any additional information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Brian Hunter, Clinical Services Manager, or Helen Simpson, Chief Executive.”
