Olympic hopefuls get into training for winter games at Snow Factor
Team GB hopefuls hit the slopes at Snow Factor Braehead for the last time ahead of the winter games.
Members of the British Park and Pipe squad returned to the indoor slopes as part of their final preparations for the 2017/2018 World Cup season – and last hopes of securing a place representing Great Britain at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games.
The athletes practised on the fresh snow last week in Scotland’s only indoor real snow sports resort under the watchful eye of Hamish McKnight, GB Park and Pipe Head Snowboard Coach.
He said:“After an intense summer training programme and with Europe’s World Cup season just round the corner, sliding into Snow Factor gives the athletes and the coaching team the chance to fine-tune technique in real snow conditions.
“It’s vital preparation for the season ahead.”
The British Park and Pipe squad periodically use Snow Factor to train with Billy Morgan, 2016 X-Games medallist, Katie Ormerod, Matt McCormick and Ben Kilner among riders previously hosted by the facility.
