Car crash accused is no-show in court
A driver ploughed his car into a motorway barrier then told police it had been stolen, it is claimed.
Sukdev Gill, 53, has been charged with losing control and careering into the central reservation of the A737.
He is accused of telling officers the motor had been swiped when quizzed in connection with the smash.
Gill dodged an appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court when he was called to answer charges of careless driving, perverting the course of justice and wasting police time.
It is alleged he was behind the wheel during the crash on the westbound slip near Linwood on April 16.
A warrant was yesterday issued for the arrest of Gill, of Mavisbank Gardens, Glasgow.
